Every year Orlando Weekly asks the people of Orlando what they think is the best the city has to offer in a number of interesting and creative categories.  We are proud to announce that for the 4th year in a row the people have elected Solillaquists of Sound for 1st place in the "Best Hip Hop" category.

WITH THEIR STAPLE SOUND THEY HAVE SINGLEHANDEDLY CREATED A NEW WAVE OF A RAW ORGANIC BLEND OF HIP HOP, SOUL, FUNK AND TRUTH TELLING. THEIR ENERGY AND SOCIAL AWARENESS EMBODY THE THIRST AND PASSION OF URBAN INTELLECTUALS WHO ARE ON THE CUSP OF REINVENTING THEMSELVES IN AN EVERCHANGING LANDSCAPE. AS THE MUSIC INDUSTRY SIT AT A DISMAL DOWNBEAT THE POTENTIAL AND WARMTH OF THESE ARTIST COULD BREATHE A COLORFUL AND VIBRANT CHANGE AS "THE ROLE MODEL OF HIP HOP"...THAT COULD HEAVLY INFLUENCE A NEW GENRE OF MUSIC.
