In 2008, the good people at the Plug Independent Music Awards asked DiViNCi to set off their annual awards ceremony with his MPC rendition of the National Anthem. To make it interesting, he put together a medley that involved switching back and forth between the anthem and some of the other routines he has stowed away in his bag of MPC tricks.

Over 5000 people were in attendance and 7 HD cameras were there to catch it all. But for 2 years the footage has been no where to be found. Now, after a lot of patience and a bunch of "URGENT" emails, we finally have the video.

"I sketched out my ideal of what I would like to do first before I tried it out. But what looked good on paper, proved to be one the most difficult routines I had ever done. The thing that made it so hard was having to seamlessly switch from one routine and set of sounds and effects to another... and then back!"

"Usually, when I do the Star Spangled Banner, it's totally by itself... which is fine, but to get that guitar/snare sound* to where it is and then switch to my drum solo or talk box** and back requires a lot of program, sound, and effect switching. You'll notice that I duck behind my table at one point so I can unplug and rewire all my pedals before jumping back into playing. The funny/cool thing is that none of my rehearsals went smoothly but as soon as I hit the stage everything just fell into place."
